Supplier catalogues brought into a Shopify store without breaking the hand-edited products
The shop sells products from eight suppliers on Shopify. Each one sends its catalogue in a different format, usually in English and with purchase prices in euro. The client needed the products in the shop translated, at its own selling price and with current stock, without duplicates and without overwriting the products already edited by hand.
What we built
The situation
The import app existed but broke on real suppliers: some had no price, others no stock or images. Downloading a feed again created duplicate products, stock never reached Shopify, and importing over the existing catalogue would have replaced the Romanian titles and the client's marked-up prices.
What we built
From July 2026 we fixed the import for each supplier and took the app to a complete flow: supplier, mapping, preparation, Shopify. Each supplier has a confirmed column mapping, and new columns sent by a supplier show up and can be added with one button.
Products are prepared in the feed table: optimised and translated titles and descriptions, with a shared dictionary that learns from corrections, conversion from euro at the ECB rate, markup, and bulk tags and codes, on thousands of rows at once.
Linking by code recognises the products already in the shop. The import updates them instead of duplicating them, and on hand-edited products it writes only the price, with a preview and safety limits. "Update feed" shows changed prices and stock, new and vanished products by section, and stock goes to Shopify in batches. The app has roles, an activity log and a built-in user manual.
What changed
- Stock reaches Shopify and stays current.
- New imports no longer duplicate or break hand-edited products.
- What changed at the supplier is visible right away, with action on the spot.
- Products enter the shop in Romanian, at the selling price.
- Large feeds are handled with filters and whole-filter selection.
