Dynamic Print's online store, with its own design and custom products priced on the spot
We built Dynamic Print's online store on PrestaShop, with its own design, for digital printing, custom products and textiles. The hard part was the price: for books, brochures, T-shirts and tote bags it depends on pages, format and print size and drops at higher quantities, so it is worked out right on the product page, with no quote request.
What we built
The shop
We built the site on PrestaShop, with a design made for a print shop: categories for digital printing, custom products and textiles, product pages organised around the options the customer picks, and a simple checkout.
Instant pricing
We started from one pricing model for every product, agreed with the client before writing code: the price of a piece is the sum of components, each with its own rate from a grid. On top of it we built our own module, without changing PrestaShop or the other modules.
On the product page the customer picks the paper, page count, cover and finish, and the unit price and total update with every change, with the price at each quantity threshold. There are four calculators, for books, magazines and brochures, T-shirts and tote bags; new products in a category pick up its grid on their own.
The print shop changes grids, thresholds and options from the admin. Every choice reaches the cart, the order, the invoice and the confirmation email, and the price is recalculated on the server, so it cannot be changed from the browser.
What changed
- A new shop with its own design, for the print shop's whole catalogue.
- Custom books, brochures, T-shirts and tote bags are ordered directly, at the exact price.
- The team changes prices and thresholds itself, for a whole category at once.
- Production gets the full order: every option is on the order, the invoice and the email.
