Polirom's online bookshop, built, hosted and developed by us since 2020
Since 2020 we have built, hosted and run Polirom's online store: the PrestaShop site, its hosting, the day-to-day running and everything added since. Thousands of titles, several couriers, locker delivery and Book Club discounts, all in one shop that we keep maintaining and developing.
What we built
The shop
We built the site on PrestaShop, with book pages designed for a publisher, a catalogue for thousands of titles, a one-page checkout, card payments and several couriers. It runs on our servers, and updates, backups and technical administration are ours too.
What we added over the years
The shop grew with the publisher, through features and customisations made to measure and modules written just for it, without changing the PrestaShop core.
FANbox locker delivery: the locker picked on the map is saved on the server and checked before the order is placed, and the order keeps its locker even when the courier's service does not answer. The checkout keeps the chosen courier and address however the cart changes.
Book Club discounts and single-title vouchers apply on their own, and the EU legal guarantee notice, required from 27 September 2026, is on the site, at checkout and in the confirmation email, in place ahead of the deadline.
What changed
- One supplier for the whole shop: site, hosting, administration and development.
- New features come as our own modules, without touching the PrestaShop core.
- Locker orders no longer leave without a locker; the chosen courier and address stay put.
- Book Club discounts and the EU legal guarantee notice, applied on time.
